What is user acquisition funding?
User acquisition funding is the financing of a company’s growth activities through receivable-backed payouts.
User acquisition is vital for you as a developer, to allow you to reach the break-even point quicker and win more substantial market share. User acquisition funding helps you to realise this in time and with an optimised cash flow.
Why is user acquisition funding important?
In order to delay your app from reaching plateau, it is necessary to continue scaling up paid user acquisition efforts. However, due to payout delays induced by distribution platforms, this may not always be easy for studios with low liquidity. By receiving user acquisition funding, this delay can be removed and developers can focus on game development with a peace of mind.
How much does it cost me?
When we engage with you during the 1Up SPRINT phase you pay a marginal fee of only 2.5% per month for your advanced payouts. As for the 1Up RACE phase our fees are not fixed but depend on a case-by-case basis. They still tend to be marginal, based on the volume of funding and the performance of your game. Is this going to affect my credit rating?
No. User acquisition funding is not a loan but an advance for your accrued revenue. You do not have to provide us any information about your credit, nor receiving funding from us would affect your credit rating. All we ask for is the performance metrics and financial information for your game.
Will 1Up Capital share decision powers over my studio or games?
No. Unlike publishers or venture capital firms, we do not ask for any share of your ownership or intellectual property in return for the funding. The only stake we take is a marginal fee of your advanced revenue.
What are the requirements to receive user acquisition funding?
For our first stage of investment, 1Up SPRINT, there is no minimum amount of revenue required. You only need to have a game that has already been released and would like to partner with us on. As for 1Up RACE, we require statistically relevant data and a proven track record of historical revenues. The only current requirement is that your company must be based in Europe.
Which platforms do you finance against?
Currently, we finance against most digital platforms such as Google, Facebook, Apple, and IronSource. The list is subject to change frequently so please get in touch if your platform is not listed here.
How do I apply for user acquisition funding?
Just get in touch with us with some basic information about your company and the performance of your games. Then we will reach out to you to schedule a planning call to discuss your needs and the set-up in detail.
How can I provide my financials?
You can simply download and send us your platform’s financial information. Alternatively you can link your developer account with our API, so that we can read out the necessary financial data automatically.
How long does it take to receive the funds after claiming my revenue?
Once our contract is set-up, you should be able to receive your funds within 24 hours upon approval.
How do I pay back 1Up Capital for my accelerated revenue?
You do not have to manually pay us back once you receive your payment from 1Up Capital. The ideal set up would be to link us directly to the platforms which allows for a hassle free processing of all payments.
What kind of services do you provide other than UA funding?
On top of financing for your user acquisition, we provide support for setting up and running your UA campaigns.
